First Major Corporate Donation Comes with Challenge
D.H. Cuddy, Chairman and President, today presented First National Bank Alaskas pledge for $100,000 as the first major corporate donation by an Alaska company to The Salvation Army in Alaska for its $18 million SAFE project planned in Anchorage. The banks donation was presented to Major Robert Rudd of The Salvation Army, Alaska Division, along with a challenge grant from the bank. Cuddy said the bank would match, up to an additional $30,000, every dollar donated by Alaska credit unions through the year 2007.
Like the Salvation Army in Alaska, First National knows the value of long term commitment -- a commitment to the community you serve and to the people who live and work in that community, Cuddy said. We believe this $100,000 donation will set the stage for additional corporate donations to this very worthwhile project, contributing to a stronger, healthier community.
Established in 1922, First National is Alaskas largest Alaskan-owned and -operated bank, with ATMs and 27 branches throughout Alaska.
