Contributions to Alaska communities surpass $208,000 in third quarter

First National Bank Alaska gave $208,865 to communities across the state in July, August and September of 2014. This total includes charitable gifts, activity sponsorships, and community and business sponsorships distributed statewide by the bank and its employees.

A portion of the third-quarter giving was First Nationals continued support of the Alaska State Activities Association (ASAA), part of the $75,000 annual donation for title sponsorship of statewide high school championships.

During its quarter-century of support, the bank has donated more than $2.1 million, countless hours of employee volunteer time and directly supported some 450,000 Alaska students, ASAA Executive Director Billy Strickland said. History shows that the bank really stepped up when ASAA needed it the most."

The bank also maintained its significant support of Alaska Chamber Singers, Alaska Native Heritage Center, Alaska Pacific University, Alaska Public Radio Network, Anchorage Concert Association, Beans Caf, Boys and Girls Clubs of Alaska, NeighborWorks, and the University of Alaska Anchorage Hospitality and Culinary Arts program.

The bank also contributed to Alaska SeaLife Center, Bridge Builders of Alaska, Great Alaska Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Kake Tribal Heritage Foundation, Kenai Peninsula Food Bank, Perseverance Theatre, Kuskokwim Campus of UAF and Valdez Museum, among many others, during this years penultimate quarter.
