Celebrating the best of Alaska

Many Alaskans enjoy festivities celebrating the culture and history of Alaska, but theres more to the festivities than a good time. These celebrations and events across the state also have positive impact on local economies.

Thats why the banks 2005 calendar, Celebrate Alaska, highlights 12 of these events, such as the Camai Dance Festival and the Alaska State Fair, and what they do for the economy.

Alaskans themselves are one of our states greatest resources, not only in how we work but how we play, Vice Chair and COO Betsy Lawer said. The festivities commemorating different Alaska events and traditions deserve recognition, both for their value in building communities and also for the benefits they provide for the local economy.

The calendar will be released Dec. 17 at the banks holiday open house, hosted by every branch across the state.

Established in 1922, First National is Alaskas largest Alaskan-owned and operated bank, with 27 branches throughout Alaska and ATMs in 17 rural communities.
