Alaska non-profits receive over $268,000 in first quarter

First National Bank contributed $268,041 in donations and community
sponsorships to Alaska communities in the first three months of 2005. The banks funds were distributed to a wide array of communities and organizations across the state.

The bank continued its longstanding major sponsorships of Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake, American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure, the Tesoro Iron Dog, Alaska Public Radio Network and the Armed Service YMCA Military Welcome Center. First quarter donations also included the third contribution of a five-year $100,000 commitment to the Salvation Armys SAFE Center capital campaign.

Other significant contributions included those to Aiding Women in Abuse
and Rape Emergencies (AWARE), Alaska School Activities Association, Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Alaska Junior Theatre, American Red Cross of Alaska, American Lung Association, Anchorage Opera, Anchorage Youth Court, Beans Cafe and Habitat for Humanity Kodiak, among many others.
