• Is digital wallet available to First National credit card holders?

    No, First National credit cards are not compatible with digital wallets at this time. Only First National personal and business debit cards are compatible.

  • Which First National debit cards are compatible with Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay® or Google Pay™?

    Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay® or Google Pay™ are compatible with most First National personal and business debit cards. At this time, teen checking and HSA debit cards are not compatible with any digital wallets.

  • Are digital wallets easy to use?

    Yes. Simply load your personal or business debit card into the digital wallet(s) of your choice. Upload instructions may vary depending on which digital wallets you choose to use.

  • Where can I use a digital wallet?

    On the go – Wherever there is a contactless symbol (pictured below), you may complete a purchase by holding your smart phone or watch next to the symbol on the payment terminal.

    Online – Many websites allow users to select a digital wallet as the payment option at checkout, instead of having to enter your debit card information each time you make a purchase.

    In-app – Digital wallets can be used for things like ride shares, morning coffee, or food delivery services.

  • What are the benefits of using a digital wallet?

    Digital wallets simplify the purchasing experience by largely eliminating the need to enter and re-enter your card number when purchasing on a connected device. It also helps prevent fraud by removing sensitive card and account information from the payment process. This:

    • Enhances transaction efficiency
    • Improves transaction security
    • Provides a secure method for third-party enablement (for example, wallet, near field communication [NFC], and QR Codes)
    • Reduces the risk of fraud in digital channels ​​
  • Which digital wallets are compatible with my First National personal and business debit cards?

    First National personal and business debit cards will be compatible with:

    • Apple Pay®
    • Samsung Pay®
    • Google Pay™

    For security, your card numbers and personal information are stored on your mobile devices. They are not shared with the merchants where you use your digital wallets.

  • What is a digital wallet?

    Digital wallets are apps or software that allow customers to access their debit card information and make purchases securely on their mobile devices (smartphone, smartwatch, and tablet) instead of using a physical debit card or cash. Customers can pay quickly with a tap anywhere digital wallets are accepted.

  • What is MYCard?

    MYCard allows you to choose the image or photo that appears on your First National:

    • Mastercard Debit Card
    • Mastercard Business Debit Card
    • Alaska Teen Card

    You may upload your own image or select an image from one of our galleries.

  • What file format do I use for MYCard digital image?

    Picture files can be in JPEG [.jpg], PNG, GIF, Bitmap [bmp] or TIFF formats. Your image must also be at least 840 x 840 pixels and no larger than 10 MB in size. The higher your image quality, the better your card will look. Please see our MYCard Image Guidelines for additional information.

  • Can I change back to a standard-issued card if I currently have a custom card?

    Yes, you can request a standard-issued card to replace your custom card at no cost.

  • If my card is lost or stolen, can I change the image on the card?

    Yes, when you notify First National your card is lost or stolen, you can request a new card with our standard card design. You can then use MYCard to create another card with a new custom image.

  • What should I do with my existing First National debit card once I receive MYCard?

    Once you activate your MYCard debit card, you should destroy your old card immediately.
