First National Bank Alaska’s Board of Directors announced that four new banking experts have joined the state’s largest locally owned community bank.
With over 20 years in law enforcement at the Anchorage Police Department, Security Officer James Estes joins the First National team in Anchorage. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, an associate’s degree in law enforcement, and an Advanced Police Certificate from the Alaska Police Standards Council. “It is an honor to protect First National’s employees and customers from crime,” Estes says.
Loan Officer Marc Guevarra has been banking in Alaska for almost two decades – and he’s gained a wide range of experience working as a teller, branch manager and loan officer. “Running a small business in Alaska is a real challenge,” Guevarra says. “That’s why being a part of their success stories is so rewarding.” Guevarra will be based at the Valley Centre Branch in Juneau. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Carmen Maldonado comes to the Anchorage First National team as a Mortgage Loan Originator. “Helping my fellow Alaskans achieve their home ownership goals is the best feeling. It is the most satisfying job I have ever had,” Maldonado says. In addition to being a member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, Maldonado has a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and an associate’s degree in business administration.
Corporate Headquarters welcomes Assistant Vice President Michelle Weiss. Weiss is an Accredited Mortgage Professional with a decade of experience. “First National’s customer service is best in class, and I am proud to be a part of such a strong team,” she says. Weiss is the president of the Alaska Mortgage Bankers Association and the director of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women in Anchorage.
