With fourth quarter contributions of $738,706, First National Bank Alaska gave $952,360 to Alaska communities in 2022. This total includes charitable gifts, activity and community sponsorships, and in-kind donations during the past year.
An additional $5 million in community investments by First National in support of low-income affordable housing in southcentral Alaska brings the total community investments and contributions to nearly $6 million.
Youth, educational, health, civic and arts organizations throughout the state were recipients of donations from First National in 2022.
As has been the case throughout the bank’s history, Alaska’s young people were at the center of First National’s support. The bank continued its history of contributions to organizations such as the Alaska School Activities Association, Alaska Children’s Trust, Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Children’s Lunchbox, Covenant House Alaska, Girl Scouts and Junior Achievement of Alaska.
Significant donations to Alaska Pacific University, Cook Inlet Tribal Council, Ilisagvik College, Rural Alaska Honors Institute and the University of Alaska Foundation extended the bank’s focus on secondary and higher education.
Other noteworthy contributions in 2022 included those to United Way organizations statewide, Alaska SeaLife Center, Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Alaska Public Radio Network, Alaska Federation of Natives, Anchorage Concert Association, Association of Alaska Housing Authorities, AWARE, Bean’s Café, Kuskokwim 300 Race Committee, Leeshore Center, American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women, Juneau Economic Development Council, Alaska Travel Industry Association, Armed Services YMCA, and Special Olympics Alaska among many, many others.
As part of the centennial celebrations, each of First National’s branches, in communities across the state, made a meaningful donation to a local community organization to help shape a brighter tomorrow for all Alaskans.
First National Bank Alaska also donated thousands of dollars of gift items such as children’s toys, food, sporting goods, toiletry kits, office supplies and clothing items. In addition to these donations, bank employees volunteered hundreds of hours to assist organizations and the people they serve.
