Melissa Schutter

Having lived in Seward most of her life, Schutter believes she is the right person to manage the bank’s branch in her hometown.

“I have known many of our customers for most of my life,” Schutter said. “Those friends and neighbors know they can walk into my office any moment to get the help they need.”

Schutter celebrated her 25th employment anniversary with First National in April 2023. First hired as a Teller, she worked as a Customer Service Representative, Personal Banker, Operations Assistant, and Operations Supervisor before being named Branch Manager. Schutter earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Capella University. She serves on the Seward Chamber of Commerce and the Port and Commerce Advisory boards and is a member of Rotary. 

In Schutter’s mind, all the experience and knowledge she’s gained at First National over the last few decades have made her a banker Seward can trust.

“Each day, we will build new relationships and strengthen existing ones,” she said.
